Things have changed since I snapped this picture, but this is a good view of how the batteries interface with the red charger and the silver DC-DC converter. The contactor has now moved up by the shunt at the top of the picture. Batteries are wired in series so that we get the full 120 volt power from them through the controller to our electric motor/transmission connection. We have since changed the position of the pot box, so that it interfaces better with the original gas pedal feet coming from inside the truck cabin. The 12 volt auxillary battery will eventually be hooked up to the DC-DC converter to keep it charged. The contactor actually functions as a buffer between the 120 volt and the 12 volt systems.
I am a teacher by profession, having taught in all possible venues, both public and private, from K to Adult. My favorite assignments have been in alternative education settings, where I have taught students with emotional and behavioral issues. I like the challenge of dealing with creative thinkers, and find them to be not only intelligent, but also spontaneous in their approach to life.
